will there be increase in mass of a metal plate, when it undergoes to photo electric effect(by a light of ener?
rgy less then work function),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, in photoelectric effect will there be increase in mass when photon(having energy less then work function) strikes to metal surface , means electron will not come out but only exite, bcoz electron will get energy and get some speed compared to light and according to insteen with high speed mass also appear to be change. is these things are right?????? or wrong with explanation.... and what is energy?????????????? how it looks like and appears?????????? how mass exchange in energy ?????? how they linked???? how insteen think this??? who approved this one????? give some historical evidence ????????
Basically you are correct.
Einstein's formual relating mass & energy, E = Mc^2 , implies that if somethings energy increases then so will its mass. This applies to any kind of energy increase. If you bomberd a metal with photons and nothing is ejected the energy is transferred to the metal and the metal's mass will increase. Or if you just heated it up on the stove the metal's increase in thermal energy could be measured as an increase in its mass.
Of course we are not able to yet measure the tiny increase in mass in those situations, but in theory the mass would increase.
This is one relationship that Einstein did not reason out in advance. It came from the Mathematics of requiring energy & momentum to be conserved in elastic collisions that was also consistant with his theory of Special Relativity. In doing the Math this relation Mc^2 appeared as a constant of integration, which he almost decided should be zero.
